Marinas in Darwin
Darwin Marinas DO NOT take bookings for marina berths for the months of June and July as during these months the marinas are very busy and usually fully booked. Also the schedule of yachts arriving and leaving is always changing, you may email them and advise them of your plans then contact them again to confirm when you arrive in Darwin.
As you are going to Darwin please read the Darwin Port Notices and there are Northern Territory Government regulations controlling the entry of yachts into marinas to prevent the introduction of unwanted marine pests. In some cases your yacht will need to be inspected by divers, or hauled out and treated to kill any such marine pests. The inspection service is free and the marina managers will be able to assist you with having these checks done, any haul out and cleaning costs are at the owner's expense.
Click on the Northern Territory Government Fisheries Web Site to see these regulations.
Darwin tides have a range of 8 metres, for the tides for 2019 click Download.
Duty Free Fuel
For Duty Free Fuel, when you arrive in Darwin first take all your yacht papers to the Shipping Section at Australian Customs located at 21 Lindsay Street in Darwin and they will issue you the paperwork and explain the procedure to you. You can take on duty free fuel at the Cullen Bay Jetty after you arrive in Darwin and before you go into a marina, yachts cannot be refueled inside a marina and this will save the extra time and effort involved in coming out of a marina to take on fuel. See the Australian Border Force (Customs) web site for all details and the necessary paperwork.
